Kelli's Blog
My blog highlights the best of the best. Posts from my family and maternity portraits, senior portraits and more can be viewed here.
SpotMyPhotos has been a pioneer in cloud-enabling professional cameras, unlocking a whole new set of exciting possibilities for event professionals.
Another year has whizzed by in a blur of events, corporate shindigs, and yes, a sloth! Yep, you read that right. This event photographer's journey through 139 days, 37 trips, and a LOT of unexpected encounters has been nothing short of wild.
As I mingled with the crowd, I noticed a young lady engrossed in conversation with my friend. Without hesitation, I decided to introduce myself, saying, "Hi, my name is Kelli Price." Her response left me utterly bewildered. She paused and then exclaimed, "THE Kelli Price?!"
This fall, I celebrated a MAJOR milestone - a whole decade of Kelli Price Photography! To mark this momentous occasion, I decided to gather with friends, family, and cherished clients in the city where it all began: Atlanta. Thank you to my friend, Torie, for capturing the fun!
In the era of smartphones and instant sharing, it may be tempting to rely on your own devices to capture your family's memorable occasions. However, entrusting a professional photographer with the responsibility of immortalizing these moments can make a world of difference when it comes to preserving your family's memories in an exceptional and enduring manner.
These tips apply to event attendees, keynote speakers, and even event planners. We're talking about simple things like ditching the gum and communicating with your photographer about what you want captured and how you plan to use the photos. Trust me, a little bit of mindfulness goes a long way in making sure your photos turn out amazing.
The Autodesk employees are invited to attend the TechX event to brainstorm, collaborate and listen (sorry, I had to go there). The fact that the event isn’t a mandatory company meeting but an incentive is pretty different than what I’ve seen before. As a photographer of many meetings, general sessions and guest speakers I can see a significant increase in the engagement.
Let’s take a moment to discuss how you can look the best in the event photos that may be captured, shared on social or the company’s internal shared folder…..forever and ever. This list is typically based on actual photos I’ve shot and sometimes thought, “I can’t embarrass this person with this photo.” The innocent have been protected.
Your primary focus should definitely be about creating quality content for your presentation and not falling on stage #speakergoals. But once you have that nailed down, you can focus on marketing yourself and getting quality photos of you on stage.
You most likely have been planning your event for over a year, if not longer. Now it's time to make sure your hard work is documented. Your attendees and guests will definitely be taking photos with their smartphones, but will YOU get access to all those images? And will the quality be there? May I be so bold as to say “Nope.”
As a Lake Tahoe family photographer, '“What should I wear?” is the #1 question I’m asked. I get it, it’s tough to know what will look the best for your entire family. I put together a few of my favorite coordinated families from my 2021 Mini Sessions.
If you are reading this, I’m assuming you are an Event Professional! WE all know that being on the road has its difficulties, like getting decent sleep in hotel rooms, exercising regularly and the hardest….eating healthy on the road. Here are a few things that make my life on the road just a little bit easier & healthier.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing 2-3 events a year since 2019 (except for you know when…looking at you 2020). And I have to say, I kinda feel like I’m part of the Arrow family too. People now recognize me, say “Good to see you again” and I’m even social media friends with a handful of the employees. Shoot, I even have photos WITH the attendees!
I have several “Kelli stories” within my blog….like this one with Peter or this Podcast with David Carr. But can you have too many stories? I chatted with CanvasRebel about my photography business and what has made me successful!
I may not live in Atlanta full-time, but I’m back enough that my friends always say, “I see you more than when you lived here!” I was able to share my favorite places for photos in Atlanta with Redfin.com. It isn’t a place that I have been able to utilize too often (small window of good light and traffic for kiddos is not ideal) but when the situation is right, its the Chef’s Kiss!!
While putting together my Top Gun Maverick newsletter, I realized I hadn’t posted a blog just for my brother! So here you go….here are some of my favorite highlights of my brother and our family.
When Park City Mountain Resort ushers in paid parking and Utah’s first eight-person high-speed lift next season, it will do it with a new person in charge.
Vail Resorts, which owns PCMR, announced Tuesday that Deirdra Walsh will replace Mike Goar as the resort’s vice president and chief operating officer.
Maura & Cody’s wedding was a perfect example of what a wedding day should be full of…..friends, sweet moments with family, fun music, silliness and yes, of course love.
I met Jonathan and his partner, Jason, in 2013 at the SITE Southeast Southern Supper. Our journey into the meetings & incentives industry is very similar. I’ve enjoyed partnering with them on several events and highly recommend them as a gifting partner!
Of course I’m a fan of Tahoe family photoshoots, but you can’t beat the Tahoe area vistas! Now you can remember your visit to Lake Tahoe (or give the perfect gift) in a special piece of JEWELRY. I’m so excited to partner with Foterra Jewelry. Foterra captures your favorite places in a keepsake photo jewelry piece.
As many of you know, Corporate Event Photography is my speciality and photography passion. I started seeing events canceled (and loosing a LOT of business) in early March 2020….when most people were still just joking about the virus. A year later, I had the opportunity to tell my story to Peter Scharff who was interviewing the event industry.
I just recently learned that the DMC, Destination Tahoe Meetings & Events, won a ADMEI Achievement Award for their planning. As their event photographer, I’m so happy I could document the uniqueness of this innovative and playful event.
If you just launched a new business or side hustle, a small business branding photo session should be in your budget. These small businesses in Reno understand the importance of personal branding and setting themselves up as a leader in their industry. Here are 5 ways they kicked butt in their lifestyle headshots.
What I REALLY love about Avalon is all the perfect photo spots. Unfortunately, so do all of the 13 year old Instagrammers. ;) That’s ok….there is plenty of space to share, and I have found the PERFECT headshot spot with a unique wall, shade for rainy/sunny days and beautiful light!
Over the past few years, I have come to have an appreciation for companies that set aside a budget and planning for a company meeting. Employees have the opportunity to get out of their office for a few days, interact with their cohorts and be inspired for the upcoming year and goals.
I met Kimberly in 2016 during on a Retreats Resources Showcase….I believe it was our first time in Nashville. She has been so supportive over the years (see the sweet kudos below) and I’m excited to see her highlighted as a “Meeting Professional to Watch” in ConventionSouth.
Before the holidays I was asked to contribute to a ShootProof blog about creating customer loyalty. Read on!
I’ve gone back to my “mother land” (seriously, I went to primary school at Lakenheath Elementary in Suffolk, England AND my Mum was born in Cambridge)! One of my event photos made it into the Daily Mail UK (online addition). Pretty cool!
With the increase in families signing up for Fall Mini Sessions, I also saw an increase in photographing the “favorite member of the family”…..the family dog!
As the crisp breeze and vibrant hues of fall take center stage, it's the perfect time to plan for fall mini sessions that capture the essence of the season. 2023 did not disappoint with a couple of my favorite locations and also NEW spots! What is your favorite spot?
