Tahoe is one of the top destination locations for weddings, and for many reasons! The laid back vibe, gorgeous views and the top notch venues & vendors (gee, thanks!) Most people assume I am a Lake Tahoe wedding photographer but I actually only photograph a handful of weddings. Photographing 3-5 weddings a year help me keep the focus on the couple and the uniqueness of their day vs. weddings blending together. Maura & Cody’s Tahoe wedding was a perfect example of what a wedding day should be full of…..friends, sweet moments with family, fun music, silliness and yes, of course love….. all with a SXSW vibe.

The highlights from the day were #1 the brides’s gor-geous dress from Swoon Bridal in Reno. Wowza! The rest of the day went according to plan and the highlights that stood out to me included the bride getting ready with her Mom, a father & bride first look, a random “sassy” photo of the bride in a white TENT while waiting for the ceremony to commence. The Tahoe lake-side wedding was held at Skylandia State Park & Beach and adorned with unique flowers by Magnolia Mums (uh bye-bye typical pink flowers), and the funky music by Music in Tahoe, Isaac Freed, which made me want to get on the dance floor!! The evening also included a guitar performance by the bride’s brother and a garter toss that actually made me blush. I’m pretty sure some of their friends did too. True story.

The reception was held at the Tahoe National Brewing Company which is a Tahoe wedding venue located lakeside in the heart of Tahoe City. They are the area's newest craft beer brewery and event venue with a view of the lake, gas fireplace to help with the evening chill and was the perfect place for a party…..I mean reception. And whatever those little potato apps they made, I’ll take 20 please.
