Atlanta Senior Portraits: Showing Off Your Own Style | High School Senior Photography

Who says senior portraits have to be in a field or surrounded by trees? Sometimes the perfect backdrop is a city street, a cool brick wall, and a skateboard.

Not every senior wants mountain views, wildflowers, or a traditional portrait session. And honestly? I LOVE that!

This Atlanta high school senior knew exactly what she wanted for her senior portraits: an urban setting, her skateboard, and photos that showed off her own style and personality.

And that's exactly what we did!

Forget the Traditional Senior Portraits

When we started planning her session, she wanted something that felt authentic to her. No stiff poses, no outfits that didn't feel like her, and definitely no cookie-cutter senior portraits.

We headed into an urban setting in Atlanta, where the brick walls, city textures, and street vibe gave us the perfect backdrop.

The best part? She brought her skateboard!

Incorporating something she genuinely loves made the session feel less like a formal photo shoot and more like an afternoon doing her thing. We captured a mix of relaxed portraits, fun skateboard shots, and images that highlighted her individual style.

That's what senior portraits should be about — celebrating who you are RIGHT NOW.

Earlier in 2015 I donated a photo session to Quality Care for Children's annual fundraiser, El Dia de los Ninos. The session was won by a lovely family and their daughter. Haley didn't want the typical senior session and wanted to show off her love of her long board. Let me say, she is one cool chick! The session in Historic Roswell Square, Georgia was threatened by a huge thunderstorm but cleared up just in time, and provided a great backdrop to some of my favorite images!
