I can’t lie, I get to experience some pretty cool things while I work. Along with staying at 5 star resorts, eating delicious food, I also get to photograph the excursions and activities the attendees experience. Here are a few of my favorites from 2019!
Horse back riding & swimming and waterfall hike
January kicked off with a bang with a trip to Jamaica right after new year’s. I had never been before so I was looking forward to it, along with getting out of the snow! It was my first time working with HMS xx and they didn’t disappoint with offering great excursions to the attendees. The first was horseback riding, which is always difficult with my camera, especially when everybody is in a line……I can only get some many photos of the people behind/in front of me. But then we got to SWIM with the horse….that was a lot of fun. I honestly only used my iPhone while I was swimming as I don’t trust myself with my DSLR.
The next day we hiked the Dunn’s River Waterfall, which was a little sketchy in a couple spots. I’ve never held so many strangers hands….even in my clubbing days. This is the waterfall where Tom Cruise and Elisabeth Shue made-out in the movie ‘Cocktail’. Again, even as a professional photographer I still had to rock my waterproof iPhone.
Plus, I got to pick up these cheesy 80’s postcard for my collection!
FAM trip with Paul Gaugain Cruiselines & Retreats Resources
The second half of January the Sierras were experiencing a huge storm and I was going to be damned if I was going to miss my flight to TAHITI!! (Yes, February was quite the letdown after these two amazing trips). So, I had to drive down to Reno two days early to make sure I was able to catch my flight. Based on a recommendation from a good friend, I personally splurged on the jet-ski excursion around Bora Bora….the colors of the water were spectacular. It even included a mid-ride snack of coconut & mango!
Cattle Drive at Cocoraque Ranch & Pavilion
As I mentioned in a previous BLOG post, this is one of my all-time favorite excursions I got to photograph for work (jet-ski in Bora Bora was technically personal). The attendees totally got into it and used all the lingo from ‘City Slickers’….it was hilarious. I didn’t get to do much ‘wrangling’ since I was taking photos, but it was still a great experience!

Rodeo in Texas
Even though Reno, Nevada has a huge rodeo, I’ve never been able to make it. So this was my first rodeo experience since I was 5 years old. Read more about the Contractor Connection Conference & Expo. I was able to get into the VIP section above where the riders were saddling up. It was pretty exciting!
Wanderlust Festival Squaw Valley, California
This was a fun branding event at Wanderlust, which is a yoga & health festival. When I was done with work I got my hair braided and experienced a little acro-yoga! More about this project coming soon!
Wine Tasting in Sonoma, California
Really…..what else do I need to say here. Wine, sunshine & fun event planners. Yes, I joined a wine club at CALMERE ESTATE WINERY! And highlight of 2019…I learned how to saber a bottle of champagne.
