I’m heading out to Las Vegas tomorrow to work with a returning client. It was a great event for their Sonitrol dealers, so I’m excited what they have planned this year!

The event kicked off with a Welcome Reception at the top of the Fairmont San Francisco with a killer view, live music and a ‘Gold Lady’ to go with the Gold Standard theme. The next day was their general session with really great speakers. And I’ve seen a LOT of guest speakers since this event over 2 years ago.

• Ken Schmidt - Author of 'Make Some Noise," Legendary Former Director of Communications Strategy at Harley-Davidson Motor Company. It was hilarious, to the point, and he was not afraid to drop a cuss word or two!

After the entertaining talk with Ken, they moved into a more somber direction. This was really to let the Sonitrol dealers that their work and advancements WERE making a difference in the safety of our schools. It was extremely touching.

• Safe & Sound Schools - Michele Gay - Mother, educator, and co-founder of Safe and Sound Schools, Michele Gay chose to take action after losing her daughter Josephine Grace on December 14, 2012 in the Sandy Hook School tragedy. Since that time, Michele has channeled her work as an advocate, improving safety and security in schools and communities across our country.

• Frank DeAngelis - He was the principal of Columbine High School on April 20, 1999, when two teenage shooters opened fire, killing 12 of his students and one teacher and wounding more than 20 others.

The event ended with their Awards Gala & beautiful, local Chinese Lion Dancing. Most couples took the opportunity to have their photograph taken with these beautiful creatures! The awards stage was also decorated with Golden Gate bridge….keeping with the Gold Standard theme. Way to go!!
